Spring has officially arrived in the nation’s capital—and with it, the return of baseball season in Washington, DC! The Washington Nationals are back in action at Nationals Park, and whether you're a die-hard fan or just looking for something fun to do, there's no better time to visit Navy Yard. With cherry blossoms blooming and the ballpark buzzing, it's the best time of year in the District.

Located right across the street from the ballpark, Dacha Beer Garden is the perfect place to hang out before or after a game. Enjoy a cold beer, grab a bite, and relax under the trees in a laid-back atmosphere with fellow fans.

The Bullpen

Just outside the center field gate, The Bullpen is a Navy Yard staple featuring live music, food trucks, and plenty of energy before every home game. It’s like a mini music festival and baseball tailgate combined.

Silver Diner Navy Yard

A new addition to the neighborhood, the Silver Diner near Nationals Park brings a beloved local chain even closer to the action. While I haven’t visited this location yet, Silver Diner is a family favorite—offering something for everyone, from burgers and pancakes to healthier options. It’s got all the nostalgia of a classic New Jersey-style diner, right here in DC.


Getting to Nationals Park: Metro, Uber & Parking Tips

If you’re heading to the game, take Metro if you can. The Navy Yard–Ballpark Station on the Green Line is just a short walk from the stadium and the easiest way to avoid traffic.

Prefer to ride? Uber and Lyft are solid choices, but expect surge pricing after the game. And if you’re driving, be prepared to pay between $40 and $100 for parking in nearby lots or garages. Definitely plan ahead if you’re bringing your own car—spots fill up fast on game day!
